You can catch an early morning flight to Tawau Airport and the total flight time from Kota Kinabalu Airport to Tawau Airport is 55 minutes. The total air fare from Kota Kinabalu Airport to Tawau Airport is about MYR 100 (Malaysian Ringgits). There are 5 to 6 daily flights from Kota Kinabalu Airport to Tawau Airport with the first flight as early as 8am and the last flight at 8pm.

2. Traveling by Road
If youíre not able to catch a flight from Kota Kinabalu Airport to Tawau Airport, or want to travel by road, then get ready for 8 to 10 hours long journey from Kota Kinabalu to Tawau. The daily departing time of a bus, i.e. Tung Ma Express from Kota Kinabalu to Tawau is 7am and 8pm. Whereas, total travelling time is around ten and half an hour approximately.
Upon reaching Tawau, your next destination should be Semporna, which is about 90 mins drive away from Tawau. The taxi will take you from the airport to Tawau bus terminal; charging forty-eight Ringgits in around half an hour approximately. If travelling by bus, then you have to reach at Sabindo Square Express Bus Terminal in the town of Tawau where we have to hire Tongtalun Express bus service that daily departs at 3pm noon from Tawau to Semporna within reasonable fare rates of 10 Ringgits only.

3. Boat from Semporna to Sipadan
Then after reaching at the port of Semporna located in Sabah, Malaysia; we must choose to reserve our seats for a boat ride in a same day that will finally take us to our Sipadan Island i.e. Pulau Sipadan. The duration from a boat is about forty-five minutes or maximum an hour.
